Vita Water Reuse Opportunities
Vita H2O is creating new ways to reuse water in Northern Colorado, starting with existing water rights from the Fort Collins-Loveland Water District and additional non-tributary sources. By exchanging these water rights for use in different locations, such as wells or new surface diversions, Vita can access more water while maintaining fairness and legal priorities. Methods like Indirect Potable Reuse (IPR) and non-potable reuse help reduce treatment costs and improve water quality, offering a more sustainable solution for homes and businesses alike.

Non-Tributary Water Benefits
Non-tributary water is a game-changer for reliable, long-term water supply. Unlike tributary sources, it’s not affected by droughts or changes in streamflow, making it a more stable option. Stored in aquifers, this water is protected from contaminants and is consistently high-quality. By combining both surface and non-tributary supplies, Vita H2O can offer flexibility and dependability in meeting water needs. With 2,500 acre-feet of water available each year, and the ability to bank extra for the future, this resource offers a 100-year supply—ensuring a secure and sustainable water source for Northern Colorado for generations to come.
